Our story started back in 2009, not unlike many start-ups, founder Mark Churchill chose to leave his role in healthcare finance with the big banks after 15 years, frustrated with a one size fits all approach and not enough focus on individual customer needs.
Understanding that pharmacy financing has its own unique challenges and isn’t any normal business, Mark stepped out on his own, allowing him to specialise in financing pharmacists and creating bespoke solutions for pharmacists.
We think the hidden reason behind being drawn to pharmacists stems from his country upbringing and his passion for communities and the value key individuals can make.
Having met his initial goal of creating a finance broking company tailored to pharmacists, it was only natural that Mark attracted likeminded people across the finance, banking and pharmacy retail industries.
This new venture attracted an elite team with a collective 150 years of banking, finance and wholesale buying experience. Among them was retail pharmacy pioneer Simon Reynolds. Now don’t let that collective age fool you, while their taste in music may be more of the Elvis Presley persuasion, this wealth of knowledge allows Kizmet to provide holistic solutions to their pharmacist’s business problems – because we get pharmacy!

This little journey brings us to today... Mark and Simons shared passion for community pharmacy has evolved into several BHAGs (give that a google) to help improve how pharmacies are financed.
And the key dynamic impacting pharmacy today…? Yep, we’re all getting older! Which has meant that store ownership continues to concentrate in the group of more experienced and established pharmacists. For young pharmacists the prospect of pharmacy ownership, like home ownership, feels increasingly unattainable and just downright scary.
Which is why we have evolved our offer and expanded our team – helping us to shape the pharmacy ownership landscape for the future.
